AKROMID® PA6 GF30
PA6 GF30
What are PA6 GF30 Compounds?
Introduction to PA6 GF30 Compounds
Polyamide 6 with 30% glass fiber reinforcement (PA6 GF30) is a special engineering plastic compound that is characterized by its high mechanical strength, rigidity and good resistance to chemicals. The glass fibers significantly improve the mechanical properties of PA6 and make it an ideal material for demanding technical applications.
Recyclability of PA6 GF30 Compounds
PA6 GF30 is generally recyclable, but the actual recyclability depends on several factors, including the purity of the material and the ability to preserve the glass fibers during reprocessing. In many cases, the material is mechanically recycled after use, whereby it is processed into regranulate, which can then be used for less demanding applications.

Difference between PA6 GF30 and PA6.6 GF30
Despite some similarities between PA6 GF30 and PA66 GF30 compounds, there are significant differences between these two materials. Both compounds belong to the polyamide group, but differ in terms of their chemical structure and therefore also their mechanical properties. In the freshly sprayed state, the mechanical properties hardly differ and are influenced by the glass fiber content.
Chemichal Differences
While polyamide 6 (PA6) is produced from caprolactam, polyamide 6.6 (PA6.6) is synthesized from hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid. In PA 6.6, the functional groups are located opposite each other in such a way that they can form hydrogen bonds. In PA 6.6, this is only the case for every second carbonamide group. For this reason, PA 6.6 has a higher melting point than PA6. Furthermore, the water absorption of PA 6.6 is also lower. This leads to a lower impact strength in the conditioned state compared to a PA6.
PA6 GF30 is processed at 270 - 290°C, PA6.6 GF30 at 280-300°C. Both PA6 GF 30 and PA6.6 GF 30 compounds can be processed with relatively short cycle times, whereby the PA6 GF30 is characterized by a better surface quality.
Areas of application
PA6 GF30: Frequently used for applications with high demands on surface quality.
PA6.6 GF30: Frequently used in cooling systems for the automotive industry in contact with coolants.

Our PA6 GF30 Compounds
AKRO-PLASTIC has a wide range of PA6 and PA6.6 compounds in its portfolio, which have been adapted and developed for many different areas of application.
Flame retardant Compounds
We support the markets with our customized portfolio of flame retardant products, all free from red phosphorus, halogenated flame retardants, zinc borate and PFAS-containing anti-drip agents. We always keep an eye on the latest technologies and regulatory changes so that we can offer you innovative and future-proof solutions. Our portfolio includes the following product groups:
Compounds with high impact resistance
By using impact-modified grades, the conditioning step after injection molding of the component can be skipped and, for example, cable ties or snap connections can be used directly. If components are exposed to high impact and shock loads, impact-modified materials are indispensable. AKRO-PLASTIC has developed a portfolio of impact-modified compounds for this purpose. These are particularly suitable for applications that have to withstand high loads. A distinction is made between cold impact resistant (S1) and dry impact resistant (S3) modified compounds. Unreinforced and reinforced compounds with different glass fiber contents are available.
Sustainable Compounds
With AKROMID® NEXT, we offer innovative and sustainable alternatives to conventional polyamides. This new product line has bio-based, biomass-balanced or chemically recycled content. Some products are offered with ISCC PLUS or REDcert² sustainability certification.
Heat stabilized compounds
Our portfolio includes products with different heat stabilizations that have been specially developed for use at elevated temperatures.
Compounds with special properties
Innovative solutions for a wide range of specialized applications. These include highly developed materials for precise and permanent laser marking, laser-transparent compounds for demanding manufacturing processes and pioneering technologies such as fluid injection technology, which open up new possibilities in product design.
