AKROMID® C3 GF 25 1 FR orange (7854)
The flame retardant and heat stabilized compound AKROMID® C3 GF 25 1 FR, especially developed for components in the high voltage range (HV connectors, busbars or housings), is listed according to UL94 in all-colors, incl. RTI listing. AKROMID® C3 GF 25 1 FR orange (7854) similar to RAL 2003 shows good color stability under heat.
AKROMID® C3 GF 25 1 FR
Compound developed for parts in the high voltage range
AKRO-PLASTIC has developed a grade that is flame-retardant and heat-resistant better than many competitors and recognized for both at UL. AKROMID® C3 GF 25 1 FR is available in black, orange, natural color and any tailored colors.
An extensive long-term thermal assessment yielded the results for RTI (relative temperature Index) according UL-Standards of 150°C for the electrical insulation performance and 125°C for impact performance and 140°C for mechanical strength.e, Naturfarbe und in anderen Farben erhältlich.
Advantages
With these properties, the material is suitable for a wide range of applications. Currently it is used in connectors for E-Mobility both automotive and non-automotive. It has also been tested and qualified for applications in large electric installations for the support of high-current bus-bars. The material uses the latest FR-technology available which is completely free of hazardous substances (no halogens, no Zinc borate, no melamine, no antimony-trioxide, no red phosphorous).
The polymers used are PA 6 and PA 6.6, this provides an excellent balance between molding-performance and ductility in use. High strain at break-values allow the use in applications with snap-hooks, which is a common feature in many electrical connectors.

Applications
Applications of AKROMID® C3 GF 25 1 FR include coils for electric motors, components in inverters, circuit breakers, automatic switches and packages for microcontrollers.
The application with microcontrollers is of particular importance because the material is free of any harmful substances even in the stabilizer packaging. Older technology stabilizers are harmful to integrated circuit interconnects and reduce the life of control devices. If required, the material can be laboratory tested to be free of iodide and bromide in the lowest ppm range.

High technical and flame-retardant products with improved CO2 footprint
Flame-retardant polyketone
Special requirements in e-mobility regarding flame retardancy, mechanics, chemical resistance, electrical properties, colour stability, processability and sustainability pose major challenges for a compound. AKROTEK® PK-VM GF 30 FR orange (8537) is the product of choice for e-mobility applications, e.g. battery management, MEB connectors, cable ducts and more.
The AKROTEK® PK-VM GF 30 FR meets the highest flammability requirements and is UL listed in all colours V0 from @ 0.8mm including RTI listing. AKRO uses only the most advanced flame-retardant systems that are free of red phosphorus and halogens. The requirements of high voltage components, such as bus bars, require a CTI of 600 V, which AKROTEK®PK-VM GF 30 FR orange (8537) meets.
The required colour stability and laser marking of the e-mobility industry can be realised by this material.
The process optimised AKROTEK® PK product portfolio offers injection moulders a wider processing window and more flexibility in processing.
AKROTEK® PK-VM GF 30 FR was developed for injection moulding and can also be processed on a large scale in 3D printing using pellet extrusion in additive manufacturing. See the video below.

PRECITE® FR – PBT FR halogen free vs. PBT halogenated
Precision to Detail
Due to the use of e-mobility and higher demands on dimensionally stable components, PBT is becoming increasingly important due to its properties. Autonomous Driving requires sensors, motors, connectors with the highest precision. Due to e-mobility, the requirements for V0 materials are getting even higher. PRECITE® flame retardant fits with well in this market with good mechanical properties and dimensional stability. Compared to halogenated materials, PRECITE® FR, with halogen free flame retardants offers advantages in CTI, density and flowability.

Compared to halogenated flame retardant PBT compounds (FR 17), our halogen-free PRECITE® FR-Compounds, show lower density as well as higher CTI.
For example:
PRECITE® P3 GF 30 9 FR natural (8053), PRECITE® P3 GF 30 9 FR black (8424)

Comparing the other technical values of halogenated compounds with our halogen-free compounds, we find that our PRECITE® compounds have a lower density and a higher CTI. Our PRECITE® compounds also stand out for their improved flowability. It has to be pointed out that the mechanical properties remain more to the same level. This can benefit a drop-in.
