Plastics Testing
Independent Testing, Anytime
In our state-of-the-art compounding laboratory, we combine expert knowledge about material testing with an in-depth understanding of plastics production and manufacturing. As one of only a few medium-sized companies producing plastics and compounds, we offer a comprehensive range of material testing solutions. This, combined with our individualised approach, enables customers to get the very best out of their plastics.
Our lab personnel are also experts in their field and possess a deep-seated knowledge as well as plenty of hands-on experience of real-life production environments. By continually upskilling on both a theoretical as well as a practical level, our staff pride themselves on always remaining completely up to date with the latest developments.
Different test specimens are needed for the material tests. These are manufactured in our in-house Competence Center. We constantly carry out batch-related measurements of the tensile modulus, the residual moisture and the ash content of reinforced compounds as standard.
Usual test procedures:
Residual moisture (DIN EN ISO 15512/B)
Ash content (DIN EN ISO 1172)
Tensile test (DIN EN ISO 527-2)
Charpy impact strength/Charpy notched impact strength (DIN EN ISO 179-1/1eU or DIN EN ISO 179-1/1eA)
Viscosity number/MVR (DIN EN ISO 307 PA / ISO 1628-5 oR DIN EN ISO 1133-2)

DSC
Differential Scanning Calorimetry is an accredited method for measuring the amount of heat delivered/absorbed by a sample when it isothermal, heating or cooling. It provides information about phase transitions such as: melting, solidification, and glass transition temperatures. A degree of crystallization, specific heat capacities and kinetic information can also be determined.

Infrared Spectroscopy
Infrared spectroscopy, often referred to as IR spectroscopy, is a physical analysis method that works with infrared radiation (wavelength: 2,5 µm to 25 µm). The method is one of the methods of molecular spectroscopy based on the excitation of energy states in molecules. IR spectroscopy is used for the quantitative determination of known substances, whose identification is carried out on the basis of a reference spectrum, or for structural clarification of unknown substances.

HDT - Heat Deflection/Distortion Temperature
Heat Deflection/Distortion Temperature determines the temperature resilience of a plastic. This is the temperature at which the sample reaches a edge fiber elongation of 0.2% under a defined weight at a constant heating rate in the three-point bending test.

TGA
Thermal-gravimetric analysis is a method for measuring mass loss while a sample is being heated. The sample decomposes and by recording a degradation curve, various components of the sample can be measured quantitatively.
